TEXT DESCRIPTION OF LONG-RUN COURSE 12 Kms - Red Man Orleigh Park return.
Leave RedMan in a Westerly direction through South Bank Parklands with the river and the city to your right. At approximately 1.75kms you will pass underneath the Victoria Bridge. Just veer right and continue along the timber boardwalk. Now the river is below you as well as to your right. You will run past the Museum and the 'new' State Library. At this point you will enter Kurilpa Park. This is an area that it's probably best that girls don't go through at night and or on their own. Mobile soup kitchens service the area and a number of people use the area as home. This is not a difficult run to navigate. Just keep the river to your right on the way out to Orleigh Park. Coming through Kurilpa Park the Pauls milk factory is on your left. And you will run off the concrete path and straight ahead onto Riverside Dr. Generally this is a very quiet Rd and you can run happily along the bitumen hassled only by the number of cyclists who also use the road. After about 1.5ks you'll come to a large building in your way. This is a rowing shed and you can simply run through area in front of the shed or around behind it on the bike path. Out the other side just keep following the road. Eventually you will climb a slight rise and the road will veer around to the left. Guess what? You just keep following it. There is now a park between you and the river and you can opt for the road or the concrete path through the park. This is all Orleigh Park but we are headed for the Ferry Stop at the end so just keep going. Eventually you come to three options. Catch the Ferry, turn left up Doorknock Tce or stop stretch and then turn and head back to the Red Man to finish off your 12Km Orleigh Park return. 12 Kms - Red Man Orleigh Park return. TT1 - Taps, Toilets and Service Stations available along route.
