TEXT DESCRIPTION OF LONG-RUN COURSE 10 Kms - Goodwill Bridge, Gardens, Sydney Rd return.
This is an out and back course which will keep you close to the city and can be changed easily or made into a loop over the Story Bridge. If you are just getting into running or doing a mid-week mid distance run this one is for you. Flat and lots of interesting sights to run by. Red Man start. Head west toward the Goodwill Bridge. Up the path past the Dry Dock on your right and follow the footpath down to the approaches to the Goodwill Bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right towards the Gardens. Circle around through the Gardens keeping the river to your right. At the Northern gate leave the Gardens and once again turn right down the ramp and head along the elevated walkway known as the Riverside Promenade. Hard to get lost now. Just run with the River on your right shoulder. Pass the Cafes and Restaurants with the City buildings towering on your left. Eventually the path veers right and the Story Bridge looms ahead and in front of you. Follow the path under the Bridge and around until you come to the very expensive floating pathway. You will love the feeling as you run and the pathway floats up and down with the passing of river craft. At the end of the boardwalk you dogleg left and then immediately right into Griffith St. After about 200mts turn first right into Sydney St. Pull up at the river and have a good stretch - you've made it half way. As you head back you will find a tap at the very beginning of the floating boardwalk. Hpoe you enjoy this run. 10.23kms There and back. Great Effort!
